I use my violin and voice to conjure stories, memories, places, and ideas.
I make music collaboratively, combining old and new sounds, bringing together varied traditions. As a performer, I’ve been called 'fearless,' and I like to help other people reach this fearlessness through creating their own new music. As an improviser with a background in Anthropology and a commitment to social justice, I’m also a musical translator. My work is about finding connections between people and music, and ways to demystify sounds by getting listeners and players involved in them: whether it's fiddling, free improvisation, or classical music.
